Kerala MSW management project launched

A wet waste material recovery facility (for representational purpose)

The large-scale MSW management project in Kerala has now been launched. According to the source, total investments are suppposed to reach INR 24 billion (EUR 265.7 million).

The project includes waste management and disposal facilities for 93 urban local bodies across Kerala. As further indicated in the source, the “preparation of solid waste management (SWM) plan” should be completed in all 93 local bodies by October 2023.

As further stated, state-of-the-art, integrated waste management plants named ‘Bio Parks’ are planned to be erected, including bio-methanation and windrow compost facilities.
