The Indian Parliament Lok Sabha has passed a bill called Energy Conservation (Amendment) Bill to promote the development of renewable energy and fuels, including biomass. Amongst others, it introduces penalties for industrial companies failing to comply with fuel norms and introduce incentives for RES, reports Business Today.
India plans to generate 50% energy from non-fossil sources as well as reduce emissions intensity per capita by 45% until 2030.
