LR Energy commissioned CBG plant in Karnal

Indian renewable energy company LR Energy has commissioned a CBG plant in Karnal, Haryana, as part of India’s Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation (SATAT) initiative.

The plant processes waste from the sugar industry and agricultural residues to produce 2,000 tpy of CBG. LR Energy has entered into a 15-year agreement with Indian Oil Corporation Limited and a tripartite agreement with GAIL India and GAIL Gas Limited.

The company plans to expand its portfolio with more than 20 projects in North India, investing around INR 6 billion (EUR 66.4 million).
