MoHUA and IIM Indore sign MOU to provide waste management training

IIM Indore and the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) have signed an MoU for a Centre of Excellence (CoE) at IIM Indore, which will provide leadership training for managing sanitation and waste in urban India.

The MOU was signed last week by Ms Roopa Mishra, Joint Secretary, MoHUA, and Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore. The CoE was recently unveiled in Delhi at the Swachh Shehar Samvad and Tech Exhibition by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

IIM Indore has reportedly received a grant from the MoHUA worth Rs 199.50 million. To develop the capacities, skills, and sensitivity of the political leadership, including mayors and ward councillors, training and development programmes will be created and implemented by the Centre of Excellence under the terms of the MoU, reports Construction World.
