Nagpur is currently facing challenges in garbage collection as new contractors take charge

The Nagpur Municipal Corporation has planned four new projects for the treatment and reuse of solid waste generated in the city. The four projects include a construction and demolition waste management plant, compost plant, material recovery facility and bio-CNG production plant.

Two new operators have been hired for garbage collection and transportation to the Bhandewadi dumping yard. The Times of India reports that the civic body is all set to terminate the contract of the waste to energy project with Essel Infraprojects and Hitachi Zosan India Pvt Ltd. Tenders for the new contracts will be released soon.
