In a meeting between the Legislative Committee on Environment and Panchayat authorities, the committee emphasised on establishing a comprehensive waste management project for the Erumeli region. According to The Hindu, the Panchayat authorities then hinted about an INR 380 million (EUR 4.6 million) fund that would be channelled towards setting up an incinerator in the region. The region is a town in the southeast of Kerala state.
