New solid waste to hydrogen project in Pune

Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has planned to set up a hydrogen extraction plant for solid waste. The facility to be set up in Hadapsar Industrial Area is expected to produce 10 tpd of hydrogen from 350 tpd of solid waste.

PMC expects the project construction to be completed in oe year and start operations from the following year. Bhabha Automatic Research Institute (BARC) is supposed to assist PMC for the facility’s plasma gasification technology to generate green hydrogen.

The green hydrogen obtained after treatment is planned to be supplied for industrial applications, as further reported.
