According to a recent source, the WtE project in Galand village in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, has not progressed so far.

According to information from May 2023, at that time, a boundary was to be erected and the project was also to be accelerated. However, neither has happened to date and the project is currently struggling with a lack of available land.

The Ghaziabad Municipality has therefore applied for an additional 40 acres for the project. It is currently not clear when the project could be completed. The project is under planning since 2018 and is being developed by a Dutch company, GC International. It is expected to process 2500 tpd of MSW.
