Maruti Suzuki launches plans for new biogas plant

Automobile company Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has published plans for a pilot biogas plant at its Manesar facility in Haryana for the fiscal year 2024-25.

The plant is designed to convert food waste and Napier grass into 0.2 tpd of biogas and around 100,000 m³ of biogas annually.

MSIL plans to increase its investment in renewable energy, including solar energy and biogas, from INR 120.8 million (EUR 1.3 million) in FY 2023-24 to INR 450 million (EUR 4.96 million) over the next 3 years.
