Plans for new WtE plant in Srinagar City

There are plans for the development of a WtE plant in Srinagar City, Jammu and Kashmir. Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) already completed “some documentation” for this project.

Moreover, a PPA is expected to be completed in the upcoming months. A time schedule for the project has not been revealed by the SMC. The source also does not provide any further details on the size of this future plant or the technology to be implemented.

The SMC recently announced it will install underground bins across the city, as reported by SolidWasteIndia. As further announced, around 506 tpd of waste are collected in all wards of Srinagar City.
