Plans for power plant conversion in New Delhi

According to The Times of India, New Delhi’s government is currently exploring the possibility to turn the currently defunct 130 MW coal-fired Rajghat power plant into a WtE facility. Delhi’s Power Secretary announced that the plant should meet European emission standards. It was furthermore said that the central location of the Rajghat site would be an advantage for a WtE operation and that new power feed-in regulations would improve the financial viability of the plans. However, the Rajghat plant has not yet been announced officially by the government.
