Problems at Brahmapuram construction site continue

Costs for the 8 MW Brahmapuram WtE plant in Kochi, have increased from INR 295 crores to INR 375 crores due to inaccurate estimations, the Times of India reports. The facility is being developed as a PPP project by GJ Eco Power Private Limited and the Kochi Municipal Corporation (KMC). The additional costs are being borne by GJ Eco Power Private Limited. As ecoprog reported, KMC has set up a concessionaire agreement, instead of leasing the 20 acres of land to the construction company. Leasing of the land would have allowed GJ Eco to mortgage it to raise additional funds.
