Public hearing on Okhla WtE plant extension postponed

According to The Pioneer, the WtE facility in Okhla, South Delhi, is asking for permission to expand its present generation capacity from 16 MW to 40 MW. Therefore, it would have to process 680,5000 tpy instead of the present 472,500 tpy. A public hearing was planned to be held on 9 January 2019, but has been postponed. Okhla residents have been peacefully protesting for the closure of the plant claiming the facility has negative health impacts.
