Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will continue to operate small-scale biogas plants, despite earlier plans for a shut down. In June 2022, PMC had announced to close 25 biogas plants.
As per the new announcement, however 13 of these plants will not be shut down. Of the remaining 12 plants, the technology is supposed to be altered at eight facilities. Four plants are planned to be used for other purposes.
The news report does not comment on the exact locations of these facilities.
