Punjab: Proposal for 100 MWel of biomass plants

The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy of the State of Punjab has proposed plans to develop 100 MWel of biomass power projects.

According to the report, the Ministry is seeking Viability Gap Funding of INR 50 million (EUR 570,262) per MW for the plan from the Union Ministry of Power, New & Renewable Energy. In total, the proposed plants should be fuelled with 1 million tpy of paddy straw.
