Editor India’s Supreme Court has asked the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) and the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) to examine a proposal to build a WtE facility in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. According to the Deccan Herald, the Agra Municipal Corporation sought permission from the court to build a plant at the site of the Kuberpur landfill. After an objection by a petitioner, the court has asked for an expert opinion on the possible environmental impacts. A joint report will be submitted within 6 weeks.
