Tamil Nadu power plant started co-firing biomass

The thermal power plant located in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, has been converted to co-firing biomass.

The plant, called NLC Tamilnadu Power Ltd, is a joint venture of NLC India Ltd and TANGEDCO and started co-firing biomass and coal on 5 December.

According to the report, the plant burns stubble waste, which is being pelletised. The source does not provide any further information on the plant.
