According to India’s National Green Tribunal (NGT), a WtE plant is currently being planned to be set up near Bhopal, the capital of India’s Madhya Pradesh state. As announced, the facility would cost around INR 4.66 billion (USD 69.8 million) and would be located in Chhawani Adampur, Bhopal district. Further, the source stated that the process to appoint a project concessionaire was in its final stages. Apparently, the WtE development aims to replace the Bhanpura landfill, which is due to be closed soon.
