According to The Times of India, two firms have supposedly signed contracts with the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) to process municipal waste and produce energy from it. The said companies are Abellon Clean Energy and Indian-based JITF Urban Infrastructure Limited. As confirmed by an AMC chairman, the contract between the AMC and those companies involves an agreement on each firm treating 1,000 tpd of waste and generating 25 MW of energy from it at two separate WtE plants. As to where exactly the WtE plants used for processing should be located and when construction will start, has not been disclosed yet.
